What is the Nutcracker 24

Nutcracker 24 is the newest and most up and coming Mountain Bike Endurance event on the calendar!

The concept is quite simple: 24 consecutive hours of adrenaline fuelled, Le Mans style racing on a Mountain Bike. If 24 hours sounds insane, the relatively tame option of a 12 hour race is also available, which runs concurrently with the 24 hour event.

Entry is open to anybody over the age of 16 being of sound body and mind and able to ride a Mountain Bike without stabilisers. Actually... scratch that – sound body & mind? You have to be mentally detached to race on a bicycle for 24 hours!

Don't worry – you don't have to ride for 24 hours solid! Although Solo entry is available, there are options available for pairs and teams ranging from 4 – 8 people. Fun category racing is also available and the aim of the game is really as much about enjoying the great atmosphere as well as the racing competition.

The Timetable of Events

Whilst racing doesn't begin until midday on Saturday, access to the park and overnight camping is available on Friday from 1000 onwards.
Outline schedules for both the 24 and 12 hour events are listed below. All entrants will receive a race pack via email prior to the event, which will include further details of activities and entertainment taking place throughout the event.

Where does it all take Place?

The Nutcracker 24 takes place against the stunning backdrop of Bramham Park, near Wetherby in West Yorkshire.

Located just off the A1(M) at the Aberford Interchange where the M1 and A1(M) meet, it is ideally situated for the national motorway network. Home to Leeds Festival and Bramham Horse Trials, the venue is no stranger to large-scale events and has a superb access infrastructure. Free camping is available on site with showers and toilets provided.

Situated on the southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Bramham features some fantastic terrain for Mountain Biking. From woodland to grassland, fire track to single track, this venue has a bit of everything.

The Course

The course is a good mixture of singltrack and fireroad all contained with the grounds of Bramham. The land gently rolls and whilst lacks any big climbs offer a few sharp kicks to keep you entertained.

Entry

With a limited number of places available for the 12 and 24 hour races, demand is going to be high. Dont miss your chance to ride in the inaugural Nutcracker 24. Entry will open on the first of January 2012.

We will have both solo and team entries available. On the day entries will not be available.
